Sept. 6, 2011

Well, the south this time. Emer one day told me that there is such place called Pandin lake. I googled it and found out that it is in San Pablo, Laguna. My friends then wanted to sketch an itinerary that will include Pandin Lake. So Emer, this tracklog is for you. :) We left home at about 0800 hours to drive south to San Pablo, Laguna, then headed to the Pandin Lake. We just dropped by at the parking space of Pandin Lake to see if there is a safe parking space there. Yes, there is. We weren't able to go to Pandin lake that day because it was about to rain. We then headed to Nagcarlan then to Liliw. We bought some sandals in Liliw then we ate lunch at LAMBARNOG place also in Liliw. We ate fried wanton (pinsek), mixed vegetables (fried), fried lumpia, and chicken teriyaki. The crew of the LAMBARNOG place were polite and nice. The food was also nice :). Lambarnog was just in front of the fire station in Liliw.

We then headed to Majayjay where "Taytay" falls is located. I noticed that there were lots of "spring" resorts from San Pablo to Majayjay. The road going to Taytay (Majyjay falls) falls from San Pablo is paved. There is also a big parking lot in Majayjay falls. There are stalls at the parking lot selling Pomelo, rambutan, softdrinks, etc. There are also rooms for rent near Majayjay falls where visitors can stay overnight.

It is about 15 minute walk from the parking lot to the Majayjay / Taytay falls on a paved walkway. The walk is really easy like walking in the park. And yes, it is an ecopark at the foot of the mount Banahaw. The catch basin of Taytay falls is large enough for kids and adults to enjoy. Visitors can also swim at the river downstream the falls. Taytay falls is a nice ecopark :) The water is clean and clear. We left Taytay falls at 1500 hours.

Then we headed to Lucban to buy some longanizas. Then we headed to Tayabas, then Sariaya (where traffic was just so bad we had to re-route to Guisguis then San Juan then Star Tollway. We then headed to Tanuan, Batangas, then to Talisay then to Tagaytay to eat supper. We reached Tagaytay at 1900 hours. Then we headed home. That was a day filled with good things. We were happy :)

Boys.... the drive was nice and relaxing with ricefields at the sides at some areas. From San Pablo, it is an uphill to Majayjay. The temp in Majayjay becomes low as it is at the foot of Mt. Banahaw. I also think that it is better to use the San Pablo route in going to Majayjay so that you can pass by Pandin and this route i think is shorter. Please check the tracklog. And please check my uploaded Caliraya tracklog in my caliraya blog. The Antipolo route and San Juan routes are a lot longer. I won't do Los Banos route, traffic at that place has always been bad in my experience.

BTW, the pics here are geotagged. And you can also check my Panoramio for the geotag check out.
